FINAL SALUTE: Village of Largo residents, including fellow military veterans, came together Friday to honor their neighbor, Robert “Fitz” Fitzgerald, for perhaps the last time. Fitzgerald, 81, a U.S. Marine who served in the Korean War, is closing in on calling a truce with cancer. To honor this proud Marine, his friends and neighbors gathered in his Pendleton Circle front lawn to produce a patriotic display. Then they sang to him in a final salute.
